Hubballi: No matter how long an accused may remain at large, justice will eventually prevail. This is applicable to Mohammed Hanif Hosamani, who is now 57, an accused who had been absconding for a staggering 28 years.

The Bendigeri police who were searching for him finally nabbed though they have not revealed the exact location from where he was nabbed.

Hosamani, a resident of Tarihal, was allegedly involved in a theft case that occurred in 1995 in Bendigeri police station limits. Since then, he had managed to evade capture, leaving the authorities baffled.

The Bendigeri police formed a dedicated team to resolve long-pending cases, and Hosamani became their prime target. Employing a combination of traditional detective work and cutting-edge technical skills, the team meticulously tracked down Hosamani’s whereabouts, revealing that he had been working in Goa and Gangavati.

With this crucial information in hand, the police swiftly apprehended Hosamani, bringing an end to his nearly three-decade-long escape.
